BioHere's a couple of basics about my journal.
My husband and I have been married since 1983 and have two children -- a girl born in 1985 and a boy born in 1987. We have two pembroke corgis, Lucy and Gizmo, who are no longer puppies but don't know it. We've had enough ups and downs to make the foundation feel solid.
Spirituality is a big part of my life. It is not something I go "do," it is something that I am. I grew up Catholic and my husband and I were (until very recently) quite active in the local Unitarian Universalist church. We still attend now and again. Some of the connections run deep. Nevertheless, my spirituality is not something that fits inside of the walls of a building. I'm a bit of an empath, intuitive and have a strong meditation practice. Even if not writing directly about this, it is part of everything I write.
I have had many jobs with titles. My passion usually led me somewhere and I road it to the end of that road, whatever it was! I don't identify with any of these roles, however, they pop up once in awhile. I've been a quite political in my past and am left of center, but I believe in being FOR causes not AGAINST them. Also, I work a lot with relationships. At my heart, I am a gerontologist, who wants to build an intergenerational off-the-grid community. I love life and am a visionary. My glass is almost always half full! Now, in my 50's, I feel I am coming into my prime of integrating my life's work within my life and my work.
Starting life over at midlife. I walked out on a career to do soul-searching in 2007. Now, I help others stand grounded in their lives. Mostly working with people in the second half of life to shed old behaviors and walk a path consistent with their soul's journey. I believe we are all late bloomers and I'm there to guide others discover their journey inward. I use the enneagram as foundation interspersed with soul collage, meditation, hypnotherapy, ministerial counseling, and nlp. Starting over isn't easy, but it is well worth it.
